Okay, I may have to work many a weekend. Being a professional makeup artist, who primarily works on weddings, it comes with the job. However, that also means I get to spend my weekday mornings no longer cooped up in an office, but with this:
I drop my Man Cub at his Prep class, and Mr. Darcy and I head out for a walk at the dog beach at Currimundi. What a beautiful piece of the Sunshine Coast this is! My absolute favourite spot in the world.
Mr. Darcy and I usually start our walk at the Buderim Street (aka Ann Street) beach access, where you can find my fave view of the rocks and water, and through to Moffat Beach, Caloundra. As soon as I step onto the sand, I am at peace. Negative ions and all that.
We walk up to Currimundi Lake, which is looking beautiful and blue and full at the moment.
Mr. Darcy looking like Hairy McClary and loving life. He is pretty happy I work from home now, too.
Ah… What a life! It took me three years of dropping my son at day care at 7:00am and picking him up at 6:00pm, slowly planning my way out of that lifestyle to get to this point. I really can’t recommend it enough to mothers in particular. If you have the drive and a passion for a business you can make work from home, do it. Start planning today. I came up with a million ideas as to how I was going to do it, but finally decided upon my makeup artistry business. It hasn’t always been easy, and I have a long way to go with other ventures to consider myself particularly successful in my career again, but at the moment I’m loving the lifestyle, raising my child the way I always wanted to by being there before and after school. For now, that’s enough.
